There was an ad in the paper for a job at Woodland Studios . I walked in and asked for an application, sat down and filled it out. There were about ten people ahead of me waiting for an interview so I walked around . I saw pictures of Garth, Reba, Wynonna, Elton John, Kansas, George Strait and too many more to name. I was in awe of the talent that had walked these corridors and recorded in the high tech rooms. Woodland Studio was were the first black gospel radio station broadcast live from In Nashville Tennessee. It was sold and then turned into one of Nashville's top recording facilities with hits like "One Day at a Time", "The Dance", "Tiny Dancer" and a most famous song "Dust in the Wind". So getting the job would be a good thing.

Interview time finally came and I walked in. The owner and several people were sitting in the room. I felt comfortable with them all as they asked questions about my life and why I wanted the job. I told them I wanted to live, eat and breathe the music industry...
2 weeks passed and I had heard nothing from the  interview... It was a Friday morning and my cat had scratched the front door screen to pieces trying to get a fly, so I removed it and drove to the hardware store in the same area as the studio.. In the parking lot of Woodland there was a small brick building that was used for equipment repair... Someone had spray painted JoJo on the brick wall in white paint.. I was rather taken aback and wondered who had done this and why had I not heard from anyone. To make a long story short...I came home and there was a message on my machine that they wanted me to come in for a second interview that afternoon... I scrambled to get ready and was there ten minutes early. The owner took me on a tour, introduced me to all the engineers and interns. I was there four hours. When I got ready to leave Mr. Solomon looked at me and said...Welcome to the family. You start Monday at 8. I hugged his neck and started crying. I was chosen out of over 2000 or more applicants...
